How RentsForRents works
Owners, tenants and small businesses contribute data and earn when it’s used. Appraisers and property managers pay a yearly membership plus a small fee per property they unlock.
1. Owners, tenants & businesses list
Create an account as a property owner or as a tenant / small business. Owners add each property (address, type and size are required; lease, occupancy, expense, income, sale and condition data are optional). Tenants and businesses add their space and lease details, and can upload their lease, which stays private.
2. Data is labelled
Each listing is labelled Owner-reported or Tenant-reported with its last-updated date.
3. Members join
$300/year membership for appraisers and property managers.
4. Unlock & use
Click “Unlock this property — $10” to see the exact address and everything the contributor shared. It stays unlocked for your membership year.
5. Contributors get paid
Every unlock earns the owner or tenant who reported the listing a payout. Contributors track accesses, earnings, and pending vs paid payouts.
Privacy by default
- Tenant names are hidden from members unless the contributor opts in per lease.
- Uploaded lease files are private: only the person who uploaded them and the RentsForRents admin can open them. They never appear in previews or member reports.
- Until a property is unlocked, nobody but its owner sees its address, photos, location or any data — locked listings are blurred placeholders.
